The mission of the I FUND is simple – to pay the scholarships and fund the academic support services for our 500 student-athletes.
Tomorrow’s leaders are today’s Fighting Illini student-athletes. They are future educators, CEO’s, doctors, engineers, astronauts, writers, and scientists. We take pride in delivering a first-class education at one of the world’s leading universities. We are committed to competing for the nation’s best and brightest student-athletes and providing them with the tools to participate in their sport at the highest level. More importantly, we are preparing them to impact the world as alumni of the University of Illinois long after their athletic careers are concluded.
Illinois Athletics is responsible for paying the University full tuition – in-state, out-of-state, or international – for the 258.5 athletic scholarships allowed under NCAA rules, along with the full cost of books, fees, room and board, and a cost-of-attendance stipend. The University provides the athletic program no waivers, breaks, or reductions to tuition or associated expenses of Fighting Illini student-athletes.
With your investment, we will not only fund our full scholarship commitment, but we will reallocate funds toward sport budgets, recruiting budgets, and facility upgrades. Enhanced resources will impact our ability to compete for championships annually.
